We design, build, and test single-seat electric race cars.

Our Team

We are final-year project, directed reading, and extracurricular students from a range of disciplines and year levels.

Meet some of our team below.

Our Competition

We contest the annual Formula-SAE Australasia competition, against some 30+ national and international universities.

The competition centres on the design and manufacture of a single-seat formula-style race car, and involves a range of static (presentation) and dynamic (track) events.

The 2022 campaign was our most successful to-date, with the team scoring 2nd in the efficiency event and 4th overall.

You can view our 2022 autocross and skidpad event runs below.

Our Cars

We currently maintain 3 single-seat formula-style race cars, and are developing a 4th.

Final-Year/Directed Reading/Extracurricular projects are available across all platforms.

  • NU16 - Internal Combustion

Our last internal-combustion entry and highest points-scoring vehicle was manufactured across the 2015-16 seasons. Driven by a Honda CBR-600 engine and weighing in under 250 kg, we primarily use this reliable and well-known platform for driver training.

  • EV.Two/AV.One - Driverless

Our second-generation electric vehicle is currently being reborn as our first autonomous race car. Initially designed with ample space for expansion, this vehicle will serve as the perfect testbed for our autonomous systems prototyping.

  • EV.Three - Electric

Our most successful vehicle, which brought home 4th overall at the 2022 competition. EV.Three represents the culmination three-years of work, featuring MIL-Spec wiring looms, bespoke PCBs, a full aerodynamics package, and a twin inboard powertrain.
