Welcome to Nu Marine, one of the University of Newcastle's engineering teams. We are provided the opportunity to develop cutting-edge skills while working on an autonomous. Our team members apply their technical knowledge to an exciting multidisciplinary, collaborating closely to produce a functional autonomous surface vessel.

We are currently preparing for our fifth appearance in the Maritime RobotX Challenge, an international competition that alternates biennially between physical events and virtual simulations. This year, we will proudly showcase our latest WAM-V vessel, aptly named ‘Theseus’ (i.e. Ship of Theseus), at the 2024 Maritime RobotX Challenge, held from the 3rd to the 10th of November in Sarasota, Florida.

Our team consists of 9 final-year engineering students, 3 juniors, and 3 supporting staff members.
